Elegant Tex - Art

Elegant Tex - Art is located at number 19 on 7th Street in Ashtalakshmi Nagar. It’s in the Alapakkam area, which is a place with a lot of small streets and houses close together. We have our workspace here where we handle all the textile and art stuff. It’s not a huge factory, just a decent-sized place where we can lay out the fabrics and see what we are doing. The light comes in through the windows in the morning and makes it easy to see the colors. We have shelves full of rolls of cloth and different tools for the art side of things. Sometimes the street gets flooded a bit when it rains hard, so we have to be careful with the stock. The people working here have been doing this for years and they have steady hands. We talk a lot while we work, mostly about the local news or what we are having for lunch. It’s a friendly place to be. You can hear the sounds of the neighborhood, like kids playing or someone selling vegetables from a cart. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If you come by, one of us will just look up from our work and say hello. It’s a very hands-on kind of business and we like being part of the community here in Alapakkam. We just do our best with the materials and time we have each day.
