You can find Chitra Castings at Flat No: 10, which is right behind the Hindustan Photo Films building in Ambattur. It’s a bit of a tucked-away spot, but we’ve been here long enough that people find us. We deal with castings, so the place is usually full of sand and metal scraps. It’s a gritty environment, and the smell of molten metal is something you never really get used to, but it’s what we do. We have a small team of workers who know how to handle the molds. We don’t have a fancy showroom or anything. If you drop by, you’ll see us working on the floor, probably covered in some dust. Ambattur is a big industrial hub, so there is always something going on around us. Sometimes the traffic makes it hard for deliveries to get in, but we make it work. We use old-school methods for a lot of our casting jobs because that’s how we learned. It isn't a high-tech operation, just honest labor. We drink a lot of water because of the heat from the melting pots. We don’t spend time on the computer much; we’d rather be at the benches. Most of our clients are local folks who need specific parts made for their machines. We just keep our heads down and get the casting done as it comes in.
