Annai Violet Arts & Science College

Annai Violet Arts & Science College is located at No 53, Violet College Road in Meenambedu, Ambattur. We are out here in Chennai, 600053. The road is actually named after the college, which is a bit of a landmark in the Meenambedu area. It is an arts and science college, so we have students studying all sorts of things, from commerce to computer science. The campus is a decent size and we have several buildings for different departments. It is not a super-modern glass building; it is more of a traditional college campus with plenty of trees and spots for students to sit between their classes. The weather in Ambattur can get quite hot, so we spend a lot of time making sure the fans are working in the lecture halls. We are a local institution and many of our students come from the surrounding neighborhoods. The staff here is mostly local too. We don't have a big corporate office; the principal and the teachers are all right here on the grounds. It is a place where people actually talk to each other. We focus on the syllabus and getting through the semester. Sometimes the canteen runs out of the best snacks by noon, but that is just how it goes on a busy campus. We are just a regular college providing a place for people to get their degrees and move on to their careers in the city.
