A Classic Furniture

A Classic Furniture is located at No.52 behind the main Tambaram bus stop on Swamy Kanniappan Street. We have been working from this spot for quite a while now. It is not a fancy building, just a simple workspace where we get things done. Most mornings start with moving the bigger pieces of furniture out of the way so we can actually walk around. There is usually a layer of sawdust on the floor by noon. The noise from the buses is constant, but after a few years, you just stop hearing it. We spend our time fixing legs on chairs or putting the final touches on a heavy wooden cupboard. Sometimes the wood doesn't cooperate, or a tool goes blunt right when you need it. It is just the way it is. We don't have a big sales team or anything like that. Usually, it is just one of us wiping sweat off our forehead and talking to whoever walks in the door. The lighting inside could be better, but we know where everything is. We keep the ledger on a small desk in the corner under a fan that squeaks. It’s a busy street and people are always rushing to catch their bus, but inside here, things move at the pace the work requires. We drink tea around four o'clock when the crowd at the bus stop is at its peak. It is just a regular workplace where we make stuff and try to keep things organized despite the limited space.
