About Prakriti Palm Dish – Industrial Plant & Machines in Talipparamba
We are based out of Kp-X- 390A in Cheppanul, right along Muyyam Road. It’s a bit of a rural spot, but that suits what we do at Prakriti Palm Dish. We make plates out of fallen palm leaves. It’s a lot of manual work, honestly. We have to collect the leaves, wash them properly, and then use the machines to press them into shapes. They aren't always perfect because the leaves have their own patterns and colors, but that’s just how natural things are. The heat from the presses can make the workspace pretty warm in the afternoons. We spend a lot of time checking each dish to make sure it doesn’t have any cracks. It’s a simple process but it takes a lot of patience. Our neighbors around Cheppanul often see the trucks coming to pick up the finished stacks. We keep the plates in a dry area so they don't get ruined by the humidity. It’s just a small operation here. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just focus on making enough dishes to fill the orders we get from local vendors. Sometimes the rain slows us down when we are trying to dry the raw leaves, so we have to adjust our schedule. We just take it day by day and try to get the work done before the sun goes down. It is hard work but it keeps us busy throughout the year.
