L&T Aqua Farm

L&T Aqua Farm is located at Post-Talegaon, Dhamdhere, which is part of the Siruro Taluka. It’s a bit of a drive to get out here, but that’s the point of an aqua farm. You need the space and the right environment for the water work. We spend our days mostly outdoors, checking on the tanks and the fish. It’s not a desk job. Our clothes usually get wet or muddy by noon, but nobody really cares about that. The weather out here in Talegaon dictates a lot of what we do. If it’s too hot or it rains too much, our whole day changes. We don’t have a big corporate office with air conditioning. We just have a small shed where we keep our tools and records. It’s a very hands-on type of business. We’ve had to learn a lot by trial and error over the years because things don’t always go according to the books. Most of our neighbors are also farmers, so we all understand each other. We sell what we grow to local markets and some distributors who come out this way. There isn't any fancy marketing involved. People know our name because we’ve been at this spot for a while now. It’s hard work and the hours can be long, but being out in the open air makes it worth it for us. Even when the work is physically draining, there's a satisfaction in seeing things grow properly over time.
