Sairam Tent House

We are located at Gaigolupadu, right near the Sarpavaram Junction. If you look across from Raheem Hospital, you will see Sairam Tent House at Door No-4-310. We have a lot of bamboo poles and huge rolls of fabric stacked up everywhere. The fabric is often dusty from being out at events. We spend most of our time loading these poles onto the back of small trucks. It’s heavy work and you have to be careful not to poke anyone. During the wedding season, we hardly get any sleep. We are out late setting up and then back early to take everything down. The office is just a small room with a phone that never stops ringing. We have a notebook where we write down the dates, but sometimes we forget to cross things out. The junction is always busy with traffic, so it’s hard to park the trucks sometimes. We have to shout to be heard over the noise of the cars. We keep some cold water in an earthen pot because the heat can be quite bad. Sometimes the fabric gets a tear and we have to sit and stitch it up by hand. It’s not a perfect setup, but we manage to get the tents up on time for most people. It’s just a lot of hauling and sweating. We keep a spare tire in the corner because we get a lot of punctures.
