The building looks just like any other house on the street. We have a small porch. We sit there in the evenings when it cools down. Inside, it’s mostly just books and documents piled up on shelves. It’s not a very organized look, but we know where everything is. The heat in Telangana can be tough. We keep the curtains drawn during the day. We don't have a big budget for fancy things, so we make do. Most people who come to see us are from the nearby villages. We speak the local language and keep things simple. There’s no need for corporate talk. We just deal with the realities of education and life in a small town. The name Vidyabhyasa Foundation is what we go by, but around here, people just know who we are. It’s a quiet existence, but it’s a good one, and we feel like we are part of the local fabric. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just finish our work by candlelight. It helps that the neighbors are always ready to lend a hand.
