Ravi Chilly & Flour Mill

The mill is right here at H. No C-059 in Kalmet Thanda. It’s a small place, but we keep busy enough with the people coming in from all over Janapahad. You can usually find us by the sound of the grinders running. They make quite a lot of noise, so we don't really hear the phone if it rings while the machines are on. The red chili dust is something else entirely. It gets on your clothes and makes you sneeze if you aren't used to it, but after a few years here in Nereducherla, we don’t even notice anymore. It’s hot in Nalgonda, and the mill gets even hotter with the motors running all day long. We have the flour mill side too for the local grains. People bring their bags on their cycles or just walk over from the village nearby. We try to get through the pile as fast as we can so nobody is waiting too long in the sun. It’s just me and a couple of others keeping things moving. We don't have any big signs or anything. If you know where the post office is in Janapahad, you aren't too far away. We just do the work, collect the change, and shut the doors when the power goes out or when it gets too dark to see. It’s a simple way to spend the day. Some days are slow, while others we can't keep up with the bags piled by the door.
