We’ve been setting things up here in Rajendra Nagar for a while now. It’s mostly just us handling the bags and making sure people in Gandhinagar get what they need for their house projects. Being situated over at Mr. K.M. Shrivastava’s place in Phundurdihari makes it easy for folks around Ambikapur to find us. Usually, the morning starts with a lot of dust and the sound of the shutters going up. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. We spend most of our time checking the stacks and talking to the drivers who bring the heavy loads in. Sometimes the weather in Chhattisgarh gets really unpredictable, especially the rains, so we have to move fast to keep the stock dry. It’s hard work, honestly. My hands are usually grey by lunchtime. People come in asking about prices and how many bags they need for a small wall or a whole roof. We just tell them what we know from seeing others build around here. There isn't any big secret to it, just moving heavy stuff from point A to point B and hoping the trucks don't get stuck on the way. We’ve seen a lot of houses go up in this part of Suruguja over the years. It’s nice to walk around and see a wall you know started as a pile in our yard. We keep it simple and just try to get through the day without any big headaches or broken pallets.
