Vastram Cultural Handloom Handicraft Devlopment Trust

You can find us in Joravarnagar, right near Zalawad Chemicals and just across from the Bunkar Samaj Bhawan. This part of the Surendranagar district has always been known for its weavers and traditional work. We are a development trust, which means we spend a lot of time working with local artisans who make things by hand using older techniques. Our building isn't anything modern or shiny. Inside, it's mostly filled with handlooms and rolls of fabric stacked against the walls. There is a specific sound that the looms make when they are running, and it fills the whole space during the day. We have stacks of cloth and handcrafted items piled up in different corners. It’s a bit of a maze sometimes, especially when a lot of new work comes in from the weavers in the villages. We aren't trying to be a high-end boutique or anything like that. We just want to make sure the traditional ways of weaving don't disappear completely. The people working here are mostly locals who have been around handlooms their whole lives. It’s honest work, even if it’s slow compared to big textile factories. Being near the chemical factory makes it easy to give people directions to our place. We don't have a big fancy entrance, just a door that stays open for the weavers and anyone interested in seeing the crafts. It's a simple operation run by people who care about their community and the local heritage.
