You’ll find us at the GIDC Lodhika area, right on Kishan Gate Road. We are directly across from Kadvani Forge, which makes it easy to give directions when people get lost. The industrial estate is always full of trucks and the smell of industrial work. Inside our gates, the focus is on the casting process. It’s a heavy, dusty kind of job. We spend a lot of time around the furnaces and the molds. The heat is something you just get used to after a few weeks, though it never really stops being intense. We have a lot of workers who have been with us since we started, so there’s a rhythm to the day that doesn't need much explaining. Things get moved from one station to the next, and there’s a lot of checking for cracks or flaws in the metal. The office part of the building is just a few desks and a lot of logbooks. We aren't big on fancy computers; we prefer writing things down so we don't lose track. Lunch breaks are usually taken sitting on crates or wherever there’s a bit of shade. It’s an honest way to spend the day. We produce parts that go into bigger machines, so our work is usually hidden away inside someone else's product. We just keep the production line moving and hope the rain doesn't leak through.
