Bansi Jari Traders

Our shop is tucked away on the first floor at 9/587 in Wadi Falia. If you know Surat, you know how Store Street Naka gets during the day. It is quite a busy place with all the traffic and people moving around constantly. We have been here for a good while now, focusing on jari work and the materials that go with it. It’s not a fancy setup or anything. Just a regular workplace where we keep the stock and talk to the people who need it for their weaving or embroidery. The stairs up to the first floor are a bit narrow, but that is just how these old buildings in this part of town are built. We mostly spend our time checking the quality of the threads and making sure everything is sorted for the orders coming in. There are a lot of traders in this street, but we just stick to our corner and do what we know. Jari is such a big part of the history here in Surat, and we are just one small part of that whole system. Some days it is quiet and other days there is a lot of rushing around, especially when the wedding season is coming up. We don’t really do much advertising or anything like that. People usually find us through word of mouth or they just know where we are located because we have been in Wadi Falia for years.
