Vimal Tyres is tucked into G-8/9 of the Sarathi Complex. We are on the 3rd Main Road in Narasimharaja Colony, which is just off the main Varachha Road. There are always stacks of tires around the shop, so the smell of rubber is something we live with every day. It’s a busy little corner of the complex. People come in mostly because they’ve hit a nail or their treads are getting too thin for the rain. We spend a lot of time bending over and using the tire irons. It’s physical work, and our clothes usually have some dirt on them by noon. The Sarathi Complex is a good spot for us, and the neighbors in Narasimharaja Colony are familiar with the shop. We don’t do much advertising; people just see the tires outside and pull in. We have various sizes in stock, from small scooters to larger cars. Sometimes the shop gets a bit crowded when two or three people show up at once, but we manage to get through it. The Varachha Road traffic is always loud, but you get used to the noise after a few weeks. We just focus on getting the wheels balanced and making sure the air pressure is right. It’s a simple trade, and we’ve been doing it here for a long time. We just take it one tire at a time and keep the shop open until late.
