Down on Kanadi Road in Village Naroli, we spend our time putting together cooling units. Western Refrigeration Pvt. Ltd. has been based at Survey No 174/1 for quite some time. It's a busy place with lots of components moving around. We deal with a lot of metal and insulation. The heat in Gujarat can be tough, so it’s a bit ironic that we spend our days making things that stay cold. The workshop floor is always full of parts. Some of us handle the assembly, while others check the seals and the wiring. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but you have to pay attention to the details or the units won’t work right. We aren't some big corporate office with glass walls. It's a factory. We get our hands dirty. Sometimes the logistics of getting parts delivered to Silvasa can be a headache, but we manage. We’ve got a good group of workers here who just want to do their jobs and head home. We don't use fancy words to describe what we do. We build fridges and coolers. That’s the long and short of it. The trucks come and go all day, taking finished units to different cities. We just keep the line moving and try to stay on top of the schedule. It’s a steady rhythm that we’ve all gotten used to over the years, and we just keep at it.
