Universal Minerals

We are situated out on Plot No-64/B-2, right off National Highway No-8 in the village of Moti Naroli. It’s near the Kim Char Rasta and just behind the BPCL pump. Being near the highway is great for the trucks but it gets very loud and dusty all day long. Universal Minerals is what we call ourselves. We deal with various types of minerals that come in from the surrounding areas. It’s heavy, dirty work most of the time. My clothes are always covered in some kind of grey powder by the time I go home. We have a large yard for storage and a small office building that gets very hot in the summer. We don't have fancy air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that creak when they turn. It’s a rugged place. We have a few guys who help with the loading. We’ve been here for a good while now. We know the truck drivers who pass through regularly. Sometimes we share a meal near the pump. There isn't much to look at around here, just the road and the fields. We don't do any big marketing. The business comes from the relationships we’ve built over the years. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from sunrise to sunset. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to do everything by hand. We just get on with it. It’s just the way things are.
