You can find Crown Velvet over at Plot No. 3 on the second floor of the Saibaba Compound. It is tucked away at the backside of the AP Market, so it takes a little bit of searching if you have never been here before. We have got a lot of velvet fabric stacked up to the ceiling. It is a bit of a climb up the stairs, and they are kind of narrow, especially when we are carrying heavy rolls of cloth. The space is mostly a warehouse feel, not a shop where you would walk around and browse. We spend the day cutting pieces to size and packing them up for delivery. Velvet is tricky because it picks up every bit of lint, so we try to keep the place as clean as we can, though it is hard in an old building like this. There is a small window that looks out over the market area, and it gets pretty loud during the day with all the vendors downstairs. We don't really have a big staff, just a couple of us handling the orders. Sometimes it gets a bit hot on the second floor during the summer months. We usually have the radio playing in the background to keep things from being too quiet. It is just a practical setup for getting the fabric out to the people who need it. We don't do much talking.
