If you head over to the Surat Textile Market on Ring Road, you’ll find us at U-1216. It is a bit of a maze in there, especially when the handcarts are pushing through the aisles and everyone is in a hurry. We are Shreejee New Collections Pvt. Ltd. and we’ve been part of this market for a long time. It’s a loud place, full of people shouting and the smell of new fabric everywhere you go. Our shop is mostly filled with the latest sarees and dress materials. We don't have a lot of room to walk around because we try to keep as much stock on hand as possible for our regulars. It’s a lot of folding and unfolding all day. My brother and I usually run the front while a couple of boys help with the heavy lifting and packing. We see customers from all over the country coming here to buy for their own shops. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, but it’s what we know. Sometimes the power goes out for a minute and we just keep talking in the dark until it comes back. It's just how life is on Ring Road. We aren't fancy people. We just want to provide a decent selection at a fair price for everyone. We drink a lot of chai to keep ourselves going throughout the long afternoons. If you come by, we’ll probably offer you a cup of tea too. It is just part of how we do things here in the market.
