Digvijay Silk Mills

We are tucked away in C 2005 at the Surat Textile Market. It's right on the Ring Road. If you've ever been to the market, you know how crowded it gets. There are thousands of shops and people everywhere. Digvijay Silk Mills is our little corner of the building. We handle a lot of silk and other fabrics. The air is always full of the smell of cloth and dust. We’ve got rolls of fabric stacked all the way to the ceiling. It can be hard to move around sometimes. We spend the day cutting, measuring, and packing. It’s physical work. The Ring Road outside is always jammed with trucks. Loading and unloading is a daily chore. We don't have fancy decorations. Our walls are just covered with samples and order sheets. Most of our neighbors have been here as long as we have. We all know each other. Sometimes we share a tea when things slow down for a minute. We don't do much advertising. People know where to find us. It’s a busy, noisy place, but it's where we work. We don't use big words to describe what we do. We just make sure the fabric gets where it needs to go. The market never really sleeps. It’s constant movement and noise. That’s just the way the textile business is in Surat.
