Super Parcel Centre

Our place is tucked away in Vikram Aditya Society, right next to the Ronak Oil Depot in Bhagal. If you smell oil or see the big trucks, you know you are close. We spend most of our time moving boxes from one corner to the other. It is a bit of a maze inside with all the parcels stacked up, but we somehow know where everything is. It is not the cleanest looking place, but it works for what we do. We usually start pretty early before the sun gets too high because the heat makes moving heavy crates a lot harder. Sometimes the neighbors complain about the noise when we are loading up in the morning, but we try to keep it down. Dealing with people’s packages is a lot of responsibility, so we stay focused on the labels and the weight. It is just a few of us here doing the heavy lifting and the sorting. We do not have a fancy waiting room, just a couple of plastic chairs if someone needs to sit down while we find their stuff. The floor is concrete and the walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but that does not really affect the work. It is a busy spot, especially on Mondays when everything arrives at once. We just keep our heads down and get through the pile. Some days the tally matches perfectly, and some days we have to recount everything twice.
