Star Industries

Star Industries is located at Survey No. 9, Block No. 1, in the Mahaprabhu Nagar area of Limbayat. This part of Surat is always moving, and our little corner is no different. We have a decent sized workshop where we handle our daily production. It’s mostly metal parts and small components that we work on. The air is usually thick with the sound of machines and the smell of cutting oil. We don't have any air conditioning, so we just use the big pedestal fans that blow the dust around. The crew here is small, just a few local guys who have been doing this kind of manual work for years. We usually start our shift around eight in the morning and work until the light starts to fade. There is a small tea stall just around the corner where we all go for a break in the afternoon. It’s a simple setup. We don't have a big marketing team or anyone to answer phones all day. If the phone rings, whoever is closest to the desk picks it up. We mostly just focus on the job at hand and try to get the orders finished on time. The floors are a bit uneven and the walls are stained, but it’s a functional space that works for us. We like the neighborhood because it’s full of people doing the same kind of hard work. It keeps us grounded in what we do.
