Sq Jeans

Our shop is at 2/1657 Zunda Street in Sagrampura. It’s an old part of town. The buildings are close together. You can hear the neighbors through the walls sometimes. We handle a lot of denim here. Jeans are heavy and they take up a lot of space. We have stacks of them reaching the ceiling. The smell of new fabric is always in the air. We have a couple of sewing machines for quick fixes. They make a rhythmic clicking sound that we’ve grown to love. Sagrampura is a busy place during the day. Zunda Street has its own character. We’ve been here for years. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy to get to it. We keep our ledgers in a drawer. Everything is done by hand mostly. It’s a bit old-fashioned, but it works. We don't try to be something we aren't. We are just Sq Jeans. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk. Other days we are running around trying to find a specific size. It's a mix. We like being part of this neighborhood. The tea shop at the corner knows exactly how we like our chai. It’s those small things that make the day go by. We take pride in the stacks of blue and black fabric. It’s hard work, but it’s ours. We plan to be on Zunda Street for a long time yet.
