We are tucked away at H-1590-91 in the Radha Krishna Textile Market. If you’ve ever been to the market, you know how hectic it can be. There are people carrying big bundles of cloth on their shoulders and trolleys blocking the hallways every few steps. Our space is filled from floor to ceiling with different types of fabrics. Sometimes it feels like the walls are made of cloth because you can hardly see the paint anymore. We spend a lot of time unfolding things to show people and then folding them back up again. It’s a lot of manual work and your arms get tired by the end of the day. The lighting inside isn't the best, so we often take samples out to the corridor to see the real color in the sunlight. We have a small stool for guests to sit on, but it usually has a pile of notebooks on it. The market closes late, so we are often here well past dark, packing up things for the next morning. We don't have a fancy website or anything; people just know us from being in the market for so long. We talk to the other shopkeepers about the prices of thread and how the business is going. It’s a small, crowded life in the market, but it’s what we know. We just try to get the orders right and keep the fabric clean.
