Ashta Vinayak Sarees

Our shop, Ashta Vinayak Sarees, is tucked into Adhinath Market at number 271. If you know Ring Road, you know how crazy the traffic and the crowds get around here. It’s a constant wall of noise from the trucks and the rickshaws outside. Inside the market, it’s a whole different world of stacks and stacks of sarees. We spend most of our day folding and unfolding silk and cotton. It’s a lot of work on the arms, honestly. The lights in the shop are bright so people can see the patterns clearly. Sometimes the fans don't feel like they're doing much when it gets really hot in the afternoon. We have been in this spot for a bit, and we know the other shopkeepers around us pretty well. We share tea and talk about how the market is doing. Adhinath Market is a bit like a maze if you aren't used to it, but once you find shop 271, we’re right there. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything like that. People just find us or hear about us from their neighbors. It’s a simple way of doing things. We make sure the sarees are stacked neatly, though they never stay that way for long once customers start looking through them. By the end of the day, we’re usually pretty tired, but it’s good to be part of the Ring Road buzz.
