Shifa Clinic

Shifa Clinic is located on Dr Ambedkar Road, right near the Saiyedpura Pumping Station. If you know this area, you know it can get pretty loud around here with the water works and all the traffic coming through Variavi Bhagal. We’ve been in this specific building for some time now. It isn’t much to look at from the outside, just a plain door and a small sign, but it’s where we spend most of our lives. Most of the people who walk in live just a few streets away from us. We see the same faces going to work every morning while we are setting things up. Inside, it’s all kept pretty simple. We have an old desk that’s been here since the day we opened and some chairs that have seen better days. We don't bother with fancy decorations because they just seem to collect dust in this part of town. Sometimes the lights flicker when the power is acting up, which happens more than we'd like it to. The neighborhood is always moving, and we are just a small part of that daily rhythm. We keep all our patient records in big paper files because that’s how we’ve always done it. It’s easier for us to just pull a folder than to mess around with a computer that might crash. When the sun goes down, the street gets a bit quieter, and we start packing up for the next day. It’s a basic life, but it’s ours.
