You can find us at 3, Dinbandhu Society, near Poonam Nagar on Bhatar Road here in Surat. This city is all about fabric, and we are right in the middle of it. We’ve been working with textiles for a long time. Our space isn't huge, but it's packed with rolls of cloth and samples. There’s always a bit of lint in the air and the sound of someone checking a ledger. We deal with all sorts of materials. Some days we are busy sorting out orders for local shops, and other days we’re just organizing what came in from the mills. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting heavy bundles and making sure colors match up. We don't have a fancy showroom. People just come to the society and look at what we have on the shelves. It’s a bit cramped, but we know where everything is. We’ve seen the market go up and down over the years. Bhatar Road has changed a lot, with new shops popping up all the time. We just stay focused on our textiles. We don't do much in terms of fancy talk; we just show the fabric and let people decide. It’s a simple business, really. We work hard, we try to be fair, and we go home tired. That’s life in the Surat textile trade for us. Often, we stay late just to finish cutting an order for a regular customer who needs it by the morning.
