Sagar Lace

Sagar Lace is located at 3/2939 in Amrut Sanmukh Ni Wadi. Like many places in Salabatpura, it’s a bit of a maze to find us if you aren't from around here. We have a lot of stuff packed into a small space. It’s mostly lace and trimmings of all sorts. The wadi is always full of activity. You can hear the sounds of heavy bundles being dropped and people talking loudly over the noise of the traffic nearby. Our workspace isn't anything special to look at. We have some old wooden racks and a counter that has been scratched up over the years. We spend our time counting stock and making sure the orders are packed right. It’s a lot of manual work. Sometimes we find ourselves covered in tiny bits of glitter or thread. The tea here is always strong and we drink a lot of it while we wait for the transporters to arrive. The windows are high up and small, so we rely on the tube lights most of the day. It’s a practical environment. We don't have a receptionist or a waiting room. People just walk in and we talk across the counter. Life moves fast in the textile markets, and we just try to keep up with the pace every day. It is tiring work but we are used to the rhythm of the wadi by now and wouldn't really know what to do with ourselves if it were quiet.
