Parmeshwar Traders

People usually find us because we are right across from the Dattatraya Temple here in Salabatpura. It is a busy spot. The morning starts with the sounds from the temple and then the shutters of the shops in Ichchha Doshi Ni Wadi start going up one by one. Our place at 3/1918/4 is just a regular trading spot. We spend most of our time moving boxes and checking lists. The walls aren't freshly painted and the desk is a bit wobbly, but it works for what we do. Sometimes the traffic in the lane gets so bad that the delivery rickshaws have to wait at the main road. It is just how life is in this part of Surat. We have been in this area for a good while now. Most people around here know us by name. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning that works all the time. Instead, we have a couple of ceiling fans that hum loudly while we work. Lunch usually comes from home in steel tiffins and we eat together when things quiet down a bit in the afternoon. It gets dusty, especially when the wind blows through the wadi, but you get used to it. We just keep track of the stock and make sure things get to where they need to go. There isn't much more to it than that. Just a daily routine of trading and talking to the neighbors.
