We are located at shop number 254 on the lower ground floor of Adarsh 1 Textile Market. It is right across from the main textile market on Ring Road, so the location is very convenient if you are already in the area for your shopping. Being on the lower ground means it stays a bit cooler than the upper floors, which is nice when the Surat heat gets bad in the summer. It is a tight space and we have it packed from the floor to the ceiling with all sorts of materials. Sometimes it is hard to move around when we have a big shipment come in and the aisles get blocked. We have been here for several years now and have seen the market change quite a bit over time. There is always a lot of tea drinking and chatting with the other shopkeepers nearby. We do not have a big website or do any of that corporate stuff people do now. We just open the shutters in the morning and see who comes by. It is a lot of manual labor, carrying heavy bundles and showing different patterns to customers all day long. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit, but we just ignore it and keep working. We are just regular people trying to run a decent shop. It is not a glamorous job, but it is our livelihood and we take it seriously.
