S. K. Textiles

S. K. Textiles is at Shop No. 7 in the Sahjanand Complex on Ved Road. This part of the city is always full of people moving cloth and bundles from one place to another. Our shop isn't very large, but we make the most of the space we have in units 30 and 31. The shelves are usually packed tight with rolls of material. Sometimes it feels like the cloth is taking over the whole place. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and writing down notes in our ledger. The floor is concrete and gets cold in the winter, but mostly it's just a place to work. Ved Road is a busy stretch, and the traffic outside never really stops. You can hear the scooters and the lorries all day long. We have been here for a good while, and the walls have a few scuffs from moving heavy rolls around. It’s not the kind of place where you find fancy rugs or air conditioning that works all the time. It is just a textile shop where we do what needs doing. We know the other shopkeepers in the complex, and we occasionally share a snack when the midday lull hits. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We keep track of the stock, talk to the regulars, and try to make sure we don’t lose our pens under the piles of fabric.
