Sadiwala Roadways

We operate out of Godown Number 5 at Pankore Naka in Surat. It’s a busy warehouse area, as you can imagine. There are trucks coming and going at all hours. Our space is basically a big open room where we keep things organized. It’s dusty, but that’s the nature of the work. We’ve been at this location for years. Everyone around Pankore Naka knows Sadiwala Roadways. We don't have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a desk, some chairs, and a lot of floor space. I spend a lot of my day on the phone or talking to drivers. It’s noisy and sometimes stressful when things are running behind. We deal with it one day at a time. The floor is concrete and has some cracks, but it holds up under the weight. We keep a logbook near the entrance. I prefer the paper system because it doesn't crash like a computer does. Sometimes we have tea together in the morning before the rush starts. It’s a hard job, but it’s honest work. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We just move things from one place to another and try to keep things moving without making a big fuss about it. If you come by, you’ll likely see us loading or unloading something. That’s just the way it is here every single day.
