Our place is situated at Plot No. 820 on Road No. 8, right in the Gidc Estate in Sachin. If you are looking for us, we are quite close to the Sagar Hotel, which is where we usually grab a bite when things get too busy to head home. This area is full of textile units, so you can always hear the clatter of the machinery from the street. Our unit is filled with rolls of cloth stacked up nearly to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a maze inside, but the guys who work here know exactly where everything is. We spend most of our time dealing with the threads and the weaving process, which gets quite dusty. We have to sweep the floors a few times a day just to keep it manageable. It’s not the quietest job, and the hum of the power looms becomes a part of your head after a few hours. Sometimes the monsoon rains make the roads around here a bit of a mess, but the work doesn't stop. We have a small group of workers who have been with us since we started. We don't bother with big advertisements because most of our work comes from people who have known us for a long time. It’s just about getting the fabric right and moving it out to the markets. We keep things simple and just focus on the day’s task until it’s time to lock up and head home for the night.
