Balaji Textiles

Balaji Textiles is located on the first floor of the N. T. N. Market, which sits right on the busy Ring Road in Surat. If you have ever been to Surat, you know that Ring Road is always packed with trucks and people moving huge bundles of cloth. Our shop at 1267/68 is usually overflowing with rolls of fabric stacked from the floor to the ceiling. It can be a real struggle just to move around the room when a new shipment comes in from the mills. We spend most of our hours measuring out fabric and chatting with the various traders who come through the market looking for stock. It’s a loud and fast-moving place to work. We aren't some fancy boutique; we are a working textile shop in the middle of a very busy trade zone. The lights are always bright, and we keep the fans going to try and move the air around. We’ve been in this particular market for years and know all the other shop owners nearby. There isn't any corporate hierarchy here; it’s just a few of us making sure the fabric gets packed up and sent out on time. Sometimes we just eat our lunch right on the cutting table because there isn't any other space to sit. That is just how life is in the N. T. N. Market. We don't do any real advertising. Most customers just find us on the first floor.
