About Silvassa Packaging – Packaging Machines & Materials in Surat
We are over at Plot No. 38 in the Danudyaog Indl Estate. The place is usually buried under stacks of cardboard. It’s a lot of brown paper and the sound of tape dispensers. The machines that cut the sheets are pretty loud, so we have to shout a bit to be heard. We spend a lot of time measuring things out and making sure the folds are straight. If the humidity is high, the paper gets a bit soft and it’s a hassle to work with. There’s a cat that hangs around the loading dock; we give it some milk now and then. The estate is a bit out of the way, but it’s quiet enough for us to focus. We have a big table in the middle where we assemble the boxes by hand when the orders are small. My hands are always a bit dry from handling the paper all day. We keep the rolls of tape on a rack by the door so we can grab them quickly. The floor is covered in those little paper punch-outs that never seem to go away even after we sweep. It’s just how it is. We have a small kettle in the back for making coffee in the mornings. Sometimes the power flickers and we have to wait for the machines to reset. It’s steady work, nothing too exciting, just lots of boxes to move. We don't mind the routine of it all. The sun hits the side door around four.
