Shree Chamunda Furniture

We spend most of our days here at G-5 Nova Complex, right by Tulsidham on the G.H.B. Road. If you know Pandesara, you know it gets quite busy around the Indian Overseas Bank area. That is where we are. We have been making furniture for a long time now. It is mostly wood and some metal work depending on what people ask for. My hands are usually covered in sawdust by noon, and the tea guy comes around twice a day to keep us going. We started out small with just a couple of saws and a lot of hope. Now we have more tools and some extra help in the back. Sometimes the shop feels a bit cramped when we have a big sofa set being finished, but we manage. People come in looking for something that will actually last in their homes. We don't do fancy talks or use big words to describe a chair. It is a chair, it is solid, and you can sit on it without worrying. The Gulshan Nahar area has changed a lot since we first opened the doors here. More traffic and more noise, but the work stays the same. We just keep measuring, cutting, and nailing things together. It is hard work and the fan barely reaches the back corner where we sand the wood down, but it feels good to finish a piece and see it go out on a rickshaw. That is the main thing for us.
