Nilkanth Fab

Sachin GIDC is a huge place, and we are just one small part of it at Plot No:7313/5 on Road No:73/C. At Nilkanth Fab, the sound of the machines is the background music to everything we do. It’s a lot of thread, fabric, and people moving around quickly. We started this place because we knew the trade, and we’ve stayed because it’s what we do best. The roads in Sachin can be a bit of a nightmare during the rains, but we still manage to get the staff in. Our workspace is crowded with rolls of material and half-finished jobs. It’s not organized in a way that an outsider would understand, but we know where everything is. We don't have a big human resources team; usually, if there’s a problem, we just talk it out over a cup of tea. It’s an honest way to make a living. The walls are covered in old calendars and some notes scribbled directly on the paint. We don’t worry about looking like a big corporation. Most of our customers are people we’ve known for years. We just try to get the quality right so they keep coming back. It’s a long day, usually starting early and ending well after the sun goes down, but that's the nature of the business here. Sometimes the neighbors come by to borrow a tool, and we do the same when something breaks.
