Tushar Silk Mills

Tushar Silk Mills is located in the New Textile Market. We are in units Q-2331-32. This is right near Sahara Darwaja on the Ring Road. If you know Surat, you know this is a very busy spot. The market is huge, and it’s easy to get lost. We have two units joined together so we have enough room for the fabric. Even then, it feels cramped. We’ve got bolts of silk everywhere. The colors are nice, but the work is heavy. We spend the day moving stock and checking orders. The noise from the Ring Road is constant. You hear horns and trucks all day long. Sahara Darwaja is a landmark everyone knows, so it helps people find the market. We don't have a fancy showroom. It’s just a place where work happens. We eat our lunch between stacks of cloth. It’s a simple life. We’ve been in the textile business for many years. We know the rhythms of the market—when it's busy and when it's quiet. Most of the time, it’s busy. We don't do much talking; we mostly just do the tasks. Our neighbors are other mill owners and traders. We all work in the same environment. It’s dusty and loud, but it’s our workplace. We don't make it sound better than it is. It's just a textile unit in a big market.
