Shivani Silk Mills

You can find Shivani Silk Mills up on the third floor of the New Textile Market. We have a row of units from number 3034 to 3047. It’s a big space because we need room for all the silk and the machinery. Being on Ring Road means there is a lot of traffic and noise outside, but once you get inside the market, it’s all about the fabric. I’ve been working at the mill for quite some time now. We spend our days making sure the looms are running and the silk is coming out right. It’s a lot of manual work and it can get pretty loud in here. The New Textile Market is a massive place, so it might take you a minute to find the right elevator to get to the third floor. We don’t have a fancy office. Most of the space is taken up by the silk. It’s just how a mill is supposed to look. We aren't here to impress people with decorations. We are here to make silk. Sometimes the colors stain our hands, but that’s just part of the job. We’ve been at this for years. People know us for being reliable and for just getting on with it. If you come by, you’ll probably hear the machines before you see us. We’ve got a lot of history in these units and we just keep going day after day. It's hard work but it is what we know.
