La Fabrica

La Fabrica is located down at Plot No. 1 in the Daman Ganga Industrial area. The address is a bit of a mouthful with the survey number 328/1/1/2 and being in the village, but once you get here, it’s just a standard factory setup. The air smells like the river sometimes and the nearby fields other times. We have a lot of space out here, which is good because we deal with quite a bit of raw material that needs to be stored before we even start working on it. The road leading up to the plot is a bit bumpy, especially after it rains, so we’re used to the mud. Inside the building, the fans are always spinning, trying to keep the place cool, but it’s still hot work. We have a small group of guys who have been with us for years. They know the machines better than anyone. We don’t spend much time in an office; most of the day is spent out on the floor checking on things or loading up the trucks that come and go. It’s a quiet area compared to the city, except for the sounds of the machinery. We just keep our heads down and get the production done. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. By the time the sun goes down, we’re usually exhausted and ready to lock up and head home to the village.
