We have been set up in the Gokul Shopping Center for quite a while now. Our spot is tucked right behind the Gitanjali petrol pump on Varachha Road, so it can be a little tricky for people to find us if they are not looking closely. We mostly spend our time dealing with watches and fixing them when they decide to stop ticking. It started out as a very small operation with just one person at a desk using tiny tools. Now we have more stock in the cases, but the actual space is still the same size it always was. People usually come in when their battery finally dies or a strap snaps off. Sometimes they just want to see what is new. It gets pretty dusty being so close to the main road, so we spend a lot of our morning wiping down the glass displays. We do not have a big fancy team here, just a couple of us who understand how gears and springs work. If the petrol pump gets busy, the traffic backs up right in front of our door. It makes for some interesting people watching while we work. We keep the lights on until late most nights because that is when people finish their jobs and remember they need their watch fixed for the next day. It is not a high-tech shop. It is mostly manual work and chatting with our neighbors. The shopping center is older now, but it is home for us.
