Larsen & Toubro (Construction Division)

Our setup is up in 903 Sunstar Apartment. It’s on Anand Mahal Road in Surat. Being on the ninth floor gives us a decent view of the traffic, but we don’t spend much time looking out the window. It’s a construction division office, so things are mostly about blueprints and schedules. Surat is a fast place, always building something new. We’re right in the middle of that. The apartment building is easy to find if you know the road. It’s mostly desks and computers inside. We have people coming in and out all day from different project sites. Sometimes the lift takes forever, which is a bit of a pain when you're in a hurry. We don't do much fancy talk here. It’s just about getting the work sorted and making sure the sites have what they need. We’ve been here for a good while. The neighbors in the building are mostly quiet. We try not to make too much noise ourselves. It gets busy during the middle of the week. Lots of phone calls and checking on supplies. It’s a practical space. We don’t have a receptionist or anything. Just us working. If you come by, someone will probably be on the phone or looking at a drawing. It’s just how a construction office runs. We keep it simple and focused on the tasks at hand. There is always a stack of papers needing attention and the tea guy comes by at eleven. It’s a routine that keeps us going through the long afternoons.
