L&T Infrastructure Development Projects Ltd. has a spot over at Toll Plaza- 2 in Palam Patia. It is out in Village- Gaman Varia Mubaba, which is part of Taluka- Shahra. If you have ever driven through this way, you have probably seen us standing there or sitting in the little booths. The air is always a bit dusty from the trucks passing through day and night. It gets really quiet in the middle of the night, but the sun during the day is no joke. We spend a lot of time checking the monitors and making sure the gates are working right. Sometimes the computers act up or a driver gets confused about where they are going, so we have to step out and point them the right way. The local guys from the village come by to chat sometimes during their breaks. It is not the most exciting place to work, but it is steady. We have a small office area where we keep our logs and eat our lunch when we get a spare minute. There is always a layer of fine dust on everything no matter how much we wipe it down. Being out here in Shahra means you see a lot of different people just passing through on their way to somewhere else. We are just the people making sure the road stays clear and the tolling part goes as it should for everyone.
