Meet Exports

At Meet Exports, we operate out of House No. 3/4064 on Lad Street. It’s tucked away behind Karva Road in Surat. The street is quite narrow, so if you’re driving, it’s a bit of a struggle to get through, but we’ve lived and worked here long enough that we don’t even think about it anymore. The building is an old one, more like a house that’s been converted into a workspace. We use the lower rooms for our export business. It’s got that old-fashioned feel with heavy wooden doors and floors that creak a little when you walk. We spend most of our time dealing with suppliers and checking the quality of what we’re sending out. There’s always a stack of ledgers on the main table, and we still do a fair bit of writing by hand because it feels more reliable sometimes. The neighborhood is mostly residential with a few other small businesses mixed in, so it’s quieter than the main markets. We usually have the windows open to catch a breeze, though that means we get some dust in too. It’s just a few of us here, and we’ve worked together for years. We don’t have any big corporate goals; we just want to make sure the boxes go out on time and the customers get what they expect. It’s a very local, steady kind of business that keeps us occupied from morning until evening.
