Daga Corrugating Industries

If you walk into Plot No. 12B in the Nanji Industrial Estate, you’re going to hear the heavy thud of the corrugating machines right away. It’s a loud place, and there’s always dust from the paper and cardboard floating in the air. We’ve been running Daga Corrugating Industries from this small corner of the estate for a long time. It’s mostly just a group of us who know how to handle the rollers and the glue. The stacks of brown sheets get pretty high by Tuesday afternoon, and we have to move them carefully so they don’t tip over. It gets hot in the shed, but we keep the big doors open to catch whatever breeze comes through the industrial park. We don't have a front desk or a receptionist; if someone needs us, they just walk up to the main floor and shout over the noise. Lunch usually happens sitting on some flat boxes near the back. We make what people need for their shipping, nothing more, nothing less. Sometimes the paper rolls arrive late and we have to stay into the evening to catch up, but that’s just how it goes in this business. We know the neighbors, the guys at the tea stall know our orders, and we just keep the machines humming along. It’s just plain work with cardboard and glue, done by hand and machine, every single day.
