Acme Soap Works

Acme Soap Works is located at Survey No. 12/1/2. We are right next to Savita Chemicals, which makes it easier for people to find our gate. The first thing you notice when you get here is the smell. It’s not a bad smell, just very strong, like lye and various oils we use for the soaps. The building is a simple one-story structure. We have the vats where we mix everything and the long tables where the soap gets cut and wrapped. It’s a very manual process. We don't have those giant automated lines you see on television. Most of it is done by hand by the people who live in the neighborhood. We’ve been here at this address for quite a few years now. The walls are stained with different colors from the dyes we use, and the floor is always a bit slippery, so we have to be careful. We don't have a marketing department or a polished brand image. We just make soap. People come by to pick up orders, and we have a chat about the weather or the local news. It’s a very grounded way to work. We don't have big meetings about our goals. We just want to make sure the soap sets right and gets packaged properly. Being near Savita Chemicals is handy for some of our supplies, too. It’s just a small, honest business at Survey No. 12/1/2 and we try to do a decent job every day.
