Smita Conductors Ltd. is out in Village-Khutali. It's a bit of a drive out on Doodhani Road near Khanvel. We’ve been here in Silvassa for a while now. The factory floor is usually noisy with the machines running all the time. We make conductors here. It’s mostly local people from around the village who come in every morning to work. Some days it gets really hot under the tin roof, but we just keep at it and drink plenty of water. There isn't much around us except other industrial sheds and some trees. We handle the materials, load the heavy trucks, and send them out. It’s practical work. No fancy office stuff or marketing people here. Just a bunch of us making sure the wire gets done right. Sometimes the power goes out, which is annoying for everyone. We spend most of the day checking the gauges and moving big spools around the floor. If you’re looking for the place, look for Survey No. 8 and the plot at 148. It's easy to miss if you aren't paying attention to the small signs. We’ve got a small gate and a bit of a yard. Mostly we just focus on getting the orders filled. It isn't a complicated business. We start early, take our tea breaks when we can, and go home when the shift is done. The road outside can get a bit muddy during the monsoon season. We just deal with it. It’s just how things are run in this part of the world.
