I’m located at 476 in the New Gidc area of Katargam. It’s a big building, and I’ve been here for quite a while now. Surat is a busy city, and this industrial zone is no different. It’s noisy and dusty most days. I run a small operation here. I don't have a bunch of fancy titles or a big board of directors. It’s just me and a few workers trying to stay on top of the orders. We do a bit of everything depending on what the customers need. The space is filled with tools and materials. I usually have a list of things to do stuck to the wall with tape. Sometimes we get a lot of work at once and it’s a bit of a scramble to get it all done. Other times, it’s a bit slower and we spend time fixing up the place. The New Gidc is a lot more crowded than it used to be. Parking a truck out front is a nightmare these days. We don’t have a lobby for visitors, just the main work floor. If someone comes to see me, we usually just stand around the desk or go outside for a tea. It’s a very basic way of doing business. I’ve lived in Surat my whole life, so I’m used to the pace here. The shop floor is always cluttered, but I know where everything is.
