Sunil Shashikantbhai Bardolia

This is Sunil’s place over in the Katargam area of Surat. We are located at Shed No. 1, Plot No. 3375/B, inside the Kakabhai Compound in Parekhwadi. Katargam is a very busy part of the city, known for its diamond and textile work, though we do our own thing here. The compound has several different units, and ours is right at the front. It is an older industrial area, so the buildings have that worn-in look of places that have seen a lot of hard work over the years. We use the shed for our primary operations. There is a lot of activity in the neighborhood from sunrise to sunset. You will see people moving goods on handcarts and small tempos squeezing through the narrow streets. Our space is functional and simple. We have a small desk for the accounts and the rest of the area is dedicated to the actual work. It is not air-conditioned or particularly modern, but it serves our purposes perfectly. We have been in this specific plot for a while now, and we are well-settled into the local community here. Most of our neighbors are also small business owners, so there is a nice sense of mutual respect. We just go about our business every day, making sure we stay on top of our orders and maintain our equipment. It is a real, working-class setup that reflects the spirit of Surat.
