This business is run out of Harikishan Compound, which is a busy little corner near Gajera Circle. If you’ve ever been to Katargam Fulpada Road in Surat, you know how crowded it gets. There’s always someone honking or a cart being pushed past the entrance. My name is on the door, and I’ve been working from this spot for a long time. It’s a practical space. We have some storage, a few chairs for visitors, and a lot of ledgers. Surat is a city that never really stops, and this neighborhood is no different. The compound has other small businesses too, so there’s always someone to chat with during a break. I don't believe in having a big, polished corporate image because that’s just not how things work around here. People come to me because they know where to find me and they know I’ll give them a straight answer. Sometimes the monsoon rains flood the road a bit, and we have to move things to higher shelves. It’s just part of the yearly cycle. I handle most of the stuff myself or with a couple of helpers. We work hard, we close up in the evening, and we do it all again the next day. It’s a local life and it suits the way I like to do business in the city. I've been a part of this community for years and plan to stay.
