We open up Shop No 10 early in the morning because that is when the contractors usually start their day and come looking for supplies. Parth Complex stays quite lively throughout the week, especially being so close to the Ashok Nagar area. Katargam is always growing with new houses, so there is always someone looking for a specific bolt or a bag of cement for a repair. Singanpur Road gets a lot of dust from the big trucks passing by, so we spend a good chunk of our time just dusting off the shelves and keeping the hardware clean. It is a small space, but we pack a lot of inventory into it. You will see pipes leaning against the back wall and stacks of heavy tiles near the entrance. Most of the people who stop by are locals from around the corner who are just fixing something small at home and need advice on a tool. We know a lot of them by name after all this time. It is not a fancy showroom with bright lights and glass displays. It is just a regular hardware store where things are piled up wherever they can fit. Sometimes it takes us a minute to find exactly what a customer is asking for, but we usually know which corner it is tucked into. The tea stall next door is where we go when things get a bit quiet in the middle of the afternoon. Living and working around Katargam means you get used to the pace here.
